Where Do I Begin?….Becoming Aware.

Generally the first question asked by most clients is “where do I begin?” So, to start the process, the first thing I do, is get to know what a client likes, and how they want to feel in their space. This includes preferences regarding style, color and texture. To become aware of your style, look in magazines and cut out images of what you love. Take pictures of items on a shopping trip to furniture and antique stores of items you are drawn to. Walk through a fabric store and get clipping of fabrics that appeal to you visually and texturally. Ask your self—how do I want to feel in the space I am working on. Write down your responses. Weather you are going to be working with a designer, or doing it yourself, gathering your inspirations will help you become aware of your style preferences, and desired “feeling” outcome of your space.
